About My Period My Pride
Since 2014, May 28th has been recognized as Menstrual Hygiene Day, a day to bring awareness to menstrual inequity. So in honor of MHD, the Dignified Girl Project hosts its annual My Period My Pride seminar. The MPMP seminar promotes menstrual equity and educates and empowers adolescent girls by equipping them with the knowledge and tools to access resources, understand and manage their period hygiene. The seminar aims to increase self-perception and empower girls to attend school and engage in extra-curricular activities more comfortably and confidently. We recognize that if a girl learns to manage her period, and have access to period products she can regularly attend school. Educated girls are more likely to be employed and employed girls are more like to contribute to our economy.
